The Missing iPhone Ringtone
Back in the day when iPhones were still $600 a piece, and only a select few had one…
I could pick any ringtone I liked. A pleasant “Strum” for calls, and a nice high-pitched “Tri-tone” for incoming SMS messages. But then when it had eventually caught on, everywhere I’d turn, someone almost without fail had an iPhone blasting out tones and tricking me into thinking that I had a new call or SMS.
Time had come to find a new ringtone, but custom ringtones are just not my thing. Unfortunately Apple doesn’t give us much stock ringtones to pick from. But what about that ringtone from the iPhone ads, apparently they left that one out when the shipped us our phones. Who’d have thought that Mac users have actually had the sound clip on their computers all along. Particularly here:
Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/iLife Sound Effects/Work- Home/Cell Phone Ringing.aif
It took the clever guys at LifeClever.com to find out. If you click through they have a link to an iPhone ad, and a downloadable copy of the file in ringtone format. Just have the decency to abstain from using it if you work in the same office as me. Joke. :-p
